Sheriff's deputies chase credit card skimmers

Two men have been stealing credit card info in St. Johns County

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office are asking for help taking two men who have been skimming credit card numbers from innocent people off the street.

So far detectives have found three cases of credit card fraud since the beginning of the year in northwest St. Johns County.

According to officials, the two men have been using an unknown skimming device to steal credit card information from multiple people.

Once they have that info, they are making fake credit cards and have used them three times, twice at Publix's on S.R. 13N and Racetrack Road.

Deputies say the men are Hispanic but don't know much else about them.

The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to call Detective Mike Thurmond at The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-3981.
