State Dept. of Health to hold 'town hall' meetings

Duval County hospitals to identify community health concerns, solutions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Duval County is collaborating with several area hospitals to hold town hall meetings over the next two weeks to address health issues in the community.

The department is hoping to gather information from the public about health care needs and the ways to deliver greater access to care. The health department and hospitals will use the information to update the hospitals' Community Health Needs Assessment, or CHNA.

The assessments are used to determine where the greatest healthcare needs are in the community, who is most at risk and how to deliver care to those in need.

Meetings will be held in Jacksonville, Baker, Middleburg, Palatka, Callahan, Westside, Hilliard, Bartram and Neptune Beach between Monday and May 28.

Refreshments and door prizes will be provided, in exchange for participation.
