Family, Friends Celebrate Rosemary Day's Birthday Thursday Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Family and friends of Rosemary Day joined together Thursday night to celebrate and honor the woman who has been missing since May.

Oct. 6 marked Day's 28th birthday, and friends and family gathered in a Riverside park to celebrate and keep the community aware that they're still looking for their beloved family member.

"We all believe she's out there, that she's going to come back home safe," said Rosemary's friend, Steve Jockioch. "It's a happy occasion, not to be a sad thing by any means."

Loved ones gathered especially to bring hope to Day?s family.

"This is more or less a tribute to her mother, so today will be a happy day not a sad day," said friend of the family Trisha Leclere.

Day disappeared at the end of May. Thursday night, on Day's birthday, family and friends tried to encourage each other and remind people that the search goes on.

?This day alone will be hard for the mother, so she has something to attend. Maybe it?ll take the burden off the family, even if it?s just a little bit," said Jockioch.

Day has been missing four-and-a half-months, but the investigation into her disappearance is still ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
