Thursday's forecast after strong storms

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Strong to isolated severe storms resulted in some wind and tornado damage in St. Johns county yesterday afternoon. According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, based on pictures taken by Emergency Management in St. Johns County, they are confirming the tornado near Elkton as an EF 0 around 2:30 pm.. Estimated wind speeds were 80 mph.

St Johns County Emergency Management reported a packing shed destroyed near Meadowbrook Road and State Road 207. The tornado continued across a potato field and across County Road 305 destroying a shed and damaging a metal constructed structure near 6160 County Road 305.

Today's forecast is almost identical to yesterday and yes that includes the risk of isolated severe thunderstorms, but the risk of strong winds is a little less. Estimated wind gusts will average 30-45 mph.
