JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was shot in the chest.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is now searching for the person who shot the woman at the Huron - Sophia Apartments. Officers arrived at that complex on Sophia Street around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found the woman shot in the chest. She was taken to UF health.
The violent crime tasks force is investigating.
