Fire Rescue: 3 injured in 2 crashes on I-95

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Three people were injured, two seriously, in two separate multivehicle crashes Monday night on northbound Interstate 95, just south of the St. Augustine outlets, St. Johns County Fire Rescue said.

According to Fire Rescue, the crashes, which both involved semi-trucks, happened just minutes apart within a quarter mile stretch of I-95.

In the first wreck, Fire Rescue said, two people were injured, one of whom was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

In the second crash, a person became trapped in their vehicle. Rescue crews were able to get the person out of the vehicle and then the person was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

It's unknown what led up to the two crashes. The Florida Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation.
