JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 93-year-old man who was struck by a car Wednesday while crossing Post Street in a wheelchair has died, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Patrick DeJoseph was headed east across Post Street at Margaret Street in a motorized wheelchair and was not in a crosswalk when he was struck, police said.

The car, a gray Honda, was driving east on Post Street just before 12:30 p.m. and hit the wheelchair with the left front side of the car, knocking DeJoseph to the ground, police said.
DeJoseph was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries and later died, police said.
Post Street in both directions was closed between Goodwin and Margaret streets while police investigated.
