PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – A man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Ponte Vedra Beach, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators were called to the crash in the 3100 block of South Ponte Vedra Boulevard.

They said Romildo "Ray" Gottuso was driving a Mazda pickup truck when it ran off the road, striking a mailbox.
Gottuso was partially ejected from the truck, deputies said.
He was flown to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center and was undergoing surgery.
Deputies were investigating to determine the factors that caused the crash.
