ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – A single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Mayport Road and Wonderwood Expressway left a woman passenger with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police said a pickup truck headed east on Wonderwood failed to complete a right turn onto Mayport Road and struck a light pole about 1 a.m. Tuesday. The driver was not seriously hurt, but the passenger was taken to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center with critical injuries.

The names of those involved were not released. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office traffic homicide detectives were investigating the crash.
