Record warmth possible as temps rise to summer-like levels

Warm weather brings a taste of spring to central and western United States

It’s February, but does it feel like it? Not for some parts of the country.

A warm front swept springlike weather across a large swath of the country Sunday in what is usually one of the coldest months of the year, sending people out of their homes to enjoy the rare winter respite but also bringing increased wildfire danger.

I took a look at the national temperatures and what’s to come; some regions will feel more like April and May.

Record highs, and lows, will likely set in the coming days. Those in Texas, the Midwest, and surrounding areas could see records broken as far as temperature highs are concerned.

The potentially record-breaking temperatures, along with the threat of low humidity primarily in parts of Texas, will also pose fire risks.

Monday and Tuesday will be the days to watch. Those who are used to being much chillier will be very warm.

This record warmth won’t last long! A cold front is set to move in behind the warm temperatures, and that will be a reminder not to put the extra layers up just yet!
