JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Repairs are set to begin at Huguenot Memorial Park for damage left in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.
The Jacksonville City Council introduced a measure Wednesday night that would appropriate over $500,000 for road repairs after the main road at the entrance of the park was washed out by the storm.

Those repairs are expected to over $1 million.
The park is closed indefinitely while work continues.
City officials said there was damage to small structures and cabanas around the park, and they are still removing debris.
The park is expected to remain closed until early next year.
City officials said season passes will be honored and extended when the park reopens.
