JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Strong thunderstorms are rumbling through central and eastern Duval county this afternoon bringing with it blinding rain, frequent lightning and pea size hail.

These storms are not severe currently but are capable of gusty winds and small hail.

As of 2:15 p.m., a Significant Weather Advisory was in effect for Duval, St. Johns and Putnam counties until 3 p.m.

The seabreeze has ignited strong thunderstorms over parts of Arlington, Oceanway and areas east of downtown. These storms will continue throughout the afternoon.

As these storms passed through Arlington and over the tv station, small hail was observed along with winds in excess of 40 mph.

Throughout the afternoon, you can continue to expect showers and storms---typical of a Florida summer afternoon. These storms will fade away as the evening wears on and we lose daytime heating.
