Melissa Smith, a woman who has given money to the woman before, reported seeing the woman, her husband and son get into a Mercedes-Benz.

Smith followed the family to another nearby plaza, where they proceeded to take out the sign again and collect money from more strangers.

"She sits there with the sign. He goes and parks the Mercedes. And they put up the sign and not less than five minutes, here she is getting money from all these people," Smith told KGTV.

When the pregnant woman saw Smith recording her, she picked up a big boulder and started coming toward her, Smith said. Someone who witnessed the incident called 911. By the time police arrived at the scene, the family had left.

Smith said she wanted to warn people about the family before they set up a new place to panhandle.
