Fewer storms today but they are still out there. Mark shows us the most likely locations for rain
Storms are growing in coverage this afternoon and they will slowly drift from Jacksonville westward away from the beaches this afternoon.
More heavy rain is possible but the storms will tend to avoid spreading northward into southern Georgia. The best areas for rain this evening will be between highway 301 and I-75.
The trend for rain drops off after sunset. Drier air Friday will keep most storms away for one day. Then comes the heat which could be the hottest felt all summer locally this weekend.
Highs climb into the mid 90s tomorrow and higher Saturday. The heat index could jump between 110-113F.
Fortunately the heat buckles early next week as rain increases.
