In the last three months Jacksonville has had 27 homicides, and many of them have gone unsolved.

MAD DADS is asking all families affected by violence to come out and break the code of silence.

The group's rally on West Beaver Street between Melson and Edgewood avenues on the Westside was just blocks away from the Silver Fox club, where a deadly shooting took place earlier this month.

Jacksonville police still have not made an arrest in the case.

MAD DADS representatives said the group's goal is to get people comfortable enough to talk to police about anything they may know about crimes.

Since January, within one mile of the MAD DADS rally location, there has been one homicide, 30 burglaries, 50 assaults, seven car thefts, and 10 robberies ranging from carjacking to residential.
