Discover is offering customers a new option when it comes to their credit cards.
Customers using the Discover It card don't have to cancel their card if they think they've misplaced it or they want to curve their credit card spending. Consumerist reports, Discover is offering users the chance to temporarily freeze their account. The feature doesn't cancel the account, but allows the customer to reactivate the account when ready.
Customers can call the company, use the website or the company's mobile app to temporarily shut down their account.
Discover has set up the feature so nothing can be done within the account, but automatic payments will continue. To get the card back up and running, a customer must lift the freeze.
