Nissan recalls 56,766 Murano models

Power steering clamps may fail

Nissan North America is recalling 56,766 2013-2014 Murano models because of faulty power steering hose clamps that increase the risk for an engine fire.

According to the manufacturer, the clamp that secures the power steering hose may fail, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid. If the fluid leaks onto a hot engine or exhaust component, there could be a risk of fire.

Nissan said it will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will install a power steering high-pressure hose kit, free of charge.
