Buckle warns shoppers after data breach

Store hit by malware designed to steal credit card data

Consumers who shopped at Buckle between October of last year and April of this year are being alerted that their credit cards might be at risk.

Buckle Incorporated announced that shoppers at all 450 stores are at risk.

The retail locations were hit by malicious software designed to steal customer credit card data. But shoppers who used the chip reader during the purchase and didn't swipe are likely in the clear. It's doubtful their cards will be cloned and used elsewhere.

Shoppers who made purchases at Buckle in the time frame should keep a close eye on their accounts and consider changing their card numbers.

Buckle said purchases made through its online store were not affected.
