ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A charter school in Clay County is set to close after two consecutive F grades, according to a report from the Florida Times-Union.
Orange Park Performing Arts Academy's principal told News4Jax that the school is appealing the grades and she hoped it could remain open.

A letter from the Clay County School District to OPPAA, however, indicated the district would not be pursuing a school grade appeal with the state, because the school's appeal request “lacks merit.”
News4Jax has called the superintendent for more information.
According to the Times-Union report, Superintendent Addison Davis plans to send letters to parents of OPPAA students next week, notifying them of the likely closure.
