That funding will go toward expanding after school activities to shore up students' knowledge of core academic subjects, including science, reading and math, according to the district.

"This is one more way we can work together to set our students on course for successful futures," Superintendent Rick Surrency said in a statement.

The programs will be offered to students at the following schools, Monday through Thursday:

  • Palatka, Interlachen and Crescent City high schools, 3:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.
  • Robert H. Jenkins, Jr., and George C. Miller middle schools, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Moseley and Interlachen elementary schools, 2:40 p.m. to 5:10 p.m.

Bus service will be provided to take students home at the end of the day. To learn more, visit PutnamSchools.org.
