Brantley Gilbert: Country music fans 'fuel my motivation'

Brantley Gilbert performs at Country Superfest in Baton Rouge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Last year was a huge party both outside for the tailgaters and inside during the shows both days of the Country Superfest. Expect this year to be no different. Especially when Brantley Gilbert hits the stage on Sunday night.

Expect some loud and hard music from a guy who has exploded on the country music scene recently and never looked back.

Not only is Brantley Gilbert a singer, he is also a songwriter, writing most of his songs and also chart topping hits, Dirt Road Anthem and My Kinda Party. His latest album, Just As I am, was recently released as a platinum edition.

"Oh man, it's been crazy," Gilbert said. "To be honest with you, it's been all a blur right now. I will have to wait a couple weeks and let it all soak in, but it has been really touching."

As I caught up with Gilbert at the Bayou Country Superfest last month, Gilbert had just finished a motorcycle ride from Houston to Baton Rouge with members of the Wounded Warrior Project. For Gilbert, motorcycles and the military are two of the most important things. Another one is his fans. He says that they are some of the most loyal in the world, so expect a strong turnout of them this weekend.

"To be honest with you, they fuel my motivation," GIlbert said. "Those folks, it's unbelievable. There's several aspects of my job and my favorite, is when somebody can send a message or you talk to them and they had a song that affected them or had the chance to make a change for them. The BG nation is a big group of folks that relate to these songs."

He says that anyone that shows up, he hopes will leave impressed with his music, his performance and the passion he puts into both. He wants fans to expect a great time!

Gilbert is scheduled to take the stage of Florida Country Superfest at 7:40 p.m. Sunday.
