Former NHL player Jordan Nolan is back on the ice — though this time it’s for laughs, not goals.

Nolan reprises his role in the fifth season of the Canadian comedy series “Shoresy,” which drops all six episodes at once on Hulu.

“I think it makes the season more enjoyable,” Nolan said. “You can dive into it, take it in, and maybe even give it a second watch.”

Fans may recognize Nolan from his NHL career with the LA Kings, but these days, he says, people stop him more often to talk about his TV role than hockey.

“I thought they were talking about hockey… and then they started talking about Shoresy,” he said.

Nolan says acting was a natural fit for him. “I’ve always loved movies. I love television,” he said. “You’ve got to prepare, study your lines, show up ready — just like hockey.” He adds that the on-set teamwork and leadership remind him of the locker room.

Nolan plays one of the “Jims,” a group of fan-favorite characters. He believes viewers connect with them because they’re relatable. “They’re good guys, great teammates, great friends,” he said. “You don’t see us all the time — but when you do, we’re memorable.”

Season five, Nolan says, focuses on family, teamwork, and community. “We’re taking on some of our old enemies, and we’ve got to come together for a common goal and protect the North American game.”

With a mix of comedy, hockey, and heart, Nolan hopes the series appeals to all viewers, whether they’re hockey fans or not. “It’s about family, it’s about community, it’s about coming together. Mix in some wild partying, hockey fights, and a little fun — it’s an easy watch.”

Season five of Shoresy is streaming now on Hulu.
