JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – White House chief of staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with “early-stage breast cancer.
The 68-year-old from Ponte Vedra Beach is a longstanding fixture of President Donald Trump’s orbit and has been his chief of staff since he took office for his second term in 2025.
In a social media post, President Trump said: Her prognosis is “excellent” and went on to say that she will continue working as his chief of staff while she undergoes treatment.
“During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy! Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her,” Trump wrote.
In a separate statement, Wiles said she was “diagnosed last week and is grateful to have a team of doctors that detected the cancer early.”
She said she felt encouraged by her prognosis and thanked the president for his “support and encouragement.”
Dr. Shala Masood, an internationally recognized expert in breast cancer diagnosis and prognosis and the medical director for the UF Health Breast Center, joined us on The Morning Show to discuss the importance of early detection in fighting breast cancer.
