Bruce Hamilton: How a chat while waiting for a PET scan helped change another patient’s outlook

After doing “battle” with the insurance company over an important test, I finally got approval to do my crucial PET scan.

It took some wrangling, but getting that scan was so important because of the crucial information it providesa about my cancer.

And while waiting to have the scan, I met a wonderful 85-year-young woman who was scared to death of having her own PET scan.

Well, Catherine and I chatted and created a bond that, frankly, helped change her whole outlook.

It’s why I’m doing this series of reports: to help make a difference in people’s lives.

That meeting increased my resolve to do more.
