Jacksonville’s best sunset view: Memorial Park

SnapJAX user Christina W shared this beautiful morning at Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Want a great spot to watch the sunset? You’re in luck! JaxBest voters chose Memorial Park as Jacksonville’s best sunset view!

Memorial Park, a beautiful, riverfront park found in the 5 Points area of Riverside, is a great place to watch the sunset and sunrise! It’s also a perfect place for a picnic on the grassy lawn, a gathering with friends, working out, people watching and more!

The main feature of the park is the bronze sculpture Life, created by the celebrated Charles Adrian Pillars. According to Visit Jacksonville, the statue honors the Floridians that died in service during World War I. The substantial sculpture is backdropped by the St. Johns River making for a beautiful photo opportunity.

Along the water, parkgoers may find fishing or just casual observers enjoying the view of the broadest part of the St. Johns River.
