“Once you taste, you’ll know,” says Shut Em Down Authentic Southern Restaurant on San Juan Avenue, your choice for Jacksonville’s best kid-friendly restaurant.
As the restaurant writes, Richard Jones — the founder — opened his doors in 2014 after spending 27 years in the food and service industry. He’d later be joined by his wife, Cathy, and his brother, Thomas.
The concept: Taking recipes that have been passed down through many generations and sharing them with the community.
“Everything about Shut Em Down is as authentic as can be — from the food to the employees,” Shut Em Down says. “The minute you enter this establishment, you’ll be offered a good ole southern experience.”
