IRS now requires appointments at downtown Jax office

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Internal Revenue Service office on West Bay Street in downtown Jacksonville is not longer accepting walk-ins.

According to the IRS website, you must now make an appointment in advance to talk to someone at the Bennett Building.

When News4Jax asked why the change was made, the agency said it does not have enough employees to take care of everyone who walks in.
