JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Prepaid just launched its 2026 Open Enrollment on Feb. 1.
For the first time, it is offering a simplified plan structure and enhanced online enrollment experience for its Prepaid Tuition and Dormitory Plans.
Florida Prepaid is available to families who live in the state who want to lock in now to the price of attending a Florida college, university or trade school while their child is young.
The sooner you start, the lower the monthly payment.
For example, if you enroll your child at birth, the cost to pay into the plan starts at $29 per month.
“It means families can lock in future education costs at today’s plan prices and begin saving early with low monthly payments designed to fit your budget and savings goals,” explained Shannon Smith, a spokesperson for Florida Prepaid.
There are several plans available that include a new, one-year, 30-credit-hour, tuition and dormitory plan. It also includes 4-year and 2-year plans.
If your child decides not to attend a Florida school, you will not lose the money you invested in the plan.
Florida Prepaid will pay the same amount to out-of-state schools and private colleges as it would to public colleges or universities in Florida.
“A child has up to 10 years after high school graduation to use the plan. Plus, if the family moved out of state, the child could return to a Florida public college or university, and their Prepaid Plan qualifies them for in-state tuition rates,” said Smith.
