2 doctor's offices raided

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two doctor's offices were raided Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation into health care fraud and possible illegal distribution of prescription drugs, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The long-term investigation involves two doctors, who live in Jacksonville, police said.

Multiple agencies are involved in the federal case.

Authorities said search warrants were executed Wednesday at Doctors Inlet Internal Medicine, Spine and Pain on College Drive in Middleburg; and at Avenues Internal Medicine, Spine and Pain on Fortune Parkway on Jacksonville's Southside.

For several hours, police took bags and boxes of evidence from the offices of two doctors.

According to their website, Drs. Milind and Suwarna Tilak are a husband and wife doctor-duo. Dr. Milind Tilak has been performing pain management procedures for over 15 years. Dr. Suwarna Tilak is a pediatrician.

Their medical doctor licenses are listed as clear and active.

News4Jax did not see any patients coming or going at the office on Jacksonville's Southside, near the Avenues Mall. But other businesses on the property said it's normally quiet and they were surprised to see police vans in the parking lot.

It's unknown how long the investigation will continue. The Tilaks have not been arrested nor charged.

News4Jax reached out to the doctors, going to their house and calling their offices, but could not reach them.
