LaFleur Sentenced To Life For Husband's Murder
Defense Attorney Plans To Appeal
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville woman was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole for killing her husband two years ago.
Catherine LaFleur was found guilty of murdering Mike Dyess last month. He was shot to death in their Mayport home just before Christmas 1999.
LaFleur claimed it was an accidental shooting that occurred while her husband was showing her how to handle a gun.
LaFleur's attorney is appealing her conviction.
