Police Announce Multiple Arrests In Four Murders

Hard Work, Luck Credited With Solving Unrelated Homicides

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police announced Thursday a combination of hard work and luck allowed them to cleared their docket of four murders -- the stabbing of two people in a Baymeadows apartment last week, a toddler last year and

"The suspects are in custody. They have confessed ... and have been charged," Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chef Mackesy said.

Two 18-year-old men are charged for the killing of a married couple at the Carlisle at Deerwood apartment complex last Friday.

Police said that Christopher Lee Thompson and Timothy Joseph Walker robbed 33-year-old Dorothea Nicassio and 39-year-old Anthony Nicassio, then stabbed them to death.

"Our first priority was to identify who they were and get them off the street," Mackesy said.

Residents in this neighborhood helped police by coming forward with a description of the suspects and the car they were driving.

In an unrelated case, police arrested Travis Yoder last night, and charged him with murdering 2-year-old Shawn Sumner in May 2000.

Yoder originally told police that Shawn -- his girlfriend's son -- fell. But information from medical experts proved otherwise.

In a third, unrelated case, Deanna Rochelle James of Jacksonville was arrested and charged with killing ex-boyfriend Frank Bernard Keith. His body was found dead last Friday inside a burning building, but a medical examination determined that he died of gunshot wounds.

Three others were arrested for allegedly helping James destroy evidence.
