Victim's Nephew Charged With Her Murder

Investigators Believe Robbery Was Motive

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Johns Sheriff's office has arrested the relative of a woman found stabbed to death in her home Tuesday evening and charged him with murder.

Police were called about 6:30 p.m. when a friend became worried after no having seen 51-year-old Judy Morrison for two days. Investigators found her body inside and began a homicide investigation.

"Our detectives worked through the night locating a subject of the investigation," St. Johns County Sheriff Neil Perry said.

About 4 a.m., detectives found their suspect, Donald Ramsey (pictured, right), 32, asleep in his car in front of his St. Augustine home. He was arrested on drug charges, and after questioning, he was charged with the murder.

Ramsey is the nephew of Morrison, and investigators said he lived with her in the mobile home on state Road 16 at one time.

Police say the prescription painkillers in his possession when he was arrested were stolen from Morrison. They believe that robbery was the probably motive in the murder.
