"My bartender was letting the other patrons out," McB's owner Buddy Burch said. "Here (Fennell) came, from half-way in the parking lot straight through the front, hit one patron, and both the bartenders went flying and landed at the other end of the bar."

Burch said he felt helpless because he couldn't get Zihal out from under the bumper of the car and the rubble. She was taken to Shands-Jacksonville Medical Center, where she died.

Fennell was also taken to Shands, where she was in fair condition Wednesday. Three others who were in the bar were taken to Memorial Hospital, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

Burch said he had declined to serve Fennell just before the incident, but he doesn't know if that had anything to do with the the crash.

Police said a blood test for drug and alcohol was conducted on Fennell and charges against her are pending further investigation.
