Just how much is an NFL team worth? Fans and some business people feel it is important to Jacksonville at any cost. Others feel the taxpayers have already spent too much to subsidize a professional sports franchise.

Since we knew it was going to end like this, why all the posturing? Why all the drama? Why did the city waste $200,000 for an outside negotiator, when all it took was Mayor John Peyton to sit down with Wayne Weaver and hammer out a deal?
The much bigger issue is Jacksonville's fan support of the NFL team. We think the Jaguars put out a good product. If you believe, as we do, that you like being an NFL city, then start acting like one and buy tickets to the games.
