Jaguars Season Ticket Prices On Rise

Cost Of Jags Season Tickets Increases

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars went into last season with great expectations but did not finish with a winning record. However, the city's football team is hoping its fans will remain loyal after a disappointing year because the cost of season tickets are going up.

The biggest storyline for the 2006 was the quarterbacks. With three different players getting a chance to play for the top spot, the Jaguars finished with an 8-8 record.

Heading into the 2007 season, some season ticket holders will have to shell out 20 percent more to keep their seats.

"Our pricing has gone anywhere from no increase, to about $6 in the general bowl," said Scott Loft of Jaguars ticket sales. "Our club seats have increased anywhere from $7 to $10."

That means a season ticket holder who had seats in the upper deck for $300 last season, will pay $360 for the same seats.

A season ticket holder with seats in a lower bowl section such as 114, those seats have gone up from $900 to $930.

"We still believe we'll be 30th or 31st in ticket pricing in the NFL and still 25 percent below the league average," Loft said. "Over the last two years, the salary cap has increased from $7 million to $8 million or so to $109 million, and by no means are we asking the fans to carry all of it, and we have to try and stay at least close to the league average."

Doing that is expected to help make Jacksonville's team more competitive within the NFL.

While the changes to single gameday tickets haven't been decided, the Jaguars hope fans will continue to support the team.

"We would never pretend to make that decision for them. We hope very much that they'll stay, if not, we have to work very hard to replace them as season ticket holders," Loft said.
