Masked Man With Shotgun Robs Westside Store

2 Men Sought In Connection With Armed Robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville investigators are asking for the public's help to track down two men involved in a Westside convenience store robbery that was caught on tape.

Surveillance video shows a masked man holding up the Gate Food Post on Bulls Bay Highway clerk with a shotgun before making off with $150 from the register.

Police are hoping the surveillance tape will lead them to the gunman.

The cameras got a shot of the masked gunman from every angle as he walked into the store, dressed in black with a shotgun pointed at the clerk.

The video shows the masked man demanding that the clerk put the money inside of his navy duffle bag.

Police said no one was hurt in the robbery.

"They could commit more robberies, and more robberies could lead to more violence," said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Melissa Bujeda.

Neighbors told Channel 4 the robbery was the fourth at the Westside Gate Gas Station in about a year.

"It started last May -- the store started getting robbed in the evening," said Arlene Hudgins, who said she has seen one of the robberies from her porch.

She said she was asleep during the latest incident, but said that she has tried to help police out in the past.

Police said they hope one of the six store cameras were able to catch what witnesses did not, such as the second man police said drove the white, four-door getaway car.

Police described the two men they are searching for in connection with the robbery as about 6 foot 4 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the men involved should call Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
