Body Found By Bloodhounds Was Missing Man

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The medical examiner has identified the body found Thursday morning in a vacant lot on the Southside as that of a 77-year-old man missing since Monday.

Police using bloodhounds to search for William Thompson found the body on property at the intersection of Forest Boulevard and Peach Drive.

Police said there was no obvious sign of physical trauma to the body, but they were still waiting on the cause of death before continuing their investigation.

Thompson was considered endangered since he was suffering from dementia.
