2 Jaguars Players Arrested; Won't Play In Sunday's Game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two Jaguars players are benched before Sunday?s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Second-year offensive tackle Richard Collier has bonded out of jail, but the team has placed him on the reserve/suspended list. Durant was released earlier in the day on $2,500 bail. Collier was out of jail by Saturday evening.

According to the arrest report, a police officer found Collier sleeping in his car at a McDonald's drive-thru window early Saturday morning in the 4200 block of Southside Boulevard. The officer said Collier admitted he had been drinking.

Rookie linebacker Justin Durant was also arrested in a separate incident. Police said they arrested him for resisting arrest, but no other information is known at this time.

Channel 4 Sports Anchor Sean Woodland said these latest arrests bring the total of Jaguars players arrested since last season to eight. The team is also dealing with the possible suspension of Marcus Stroud. He may be out four games if the NFL determines that he used a banned performance-enhancing substance.

Offensive lineman Khalif Barnes will be back in court next month. Criminal charges have been dropped against him after a car crash in September. He still may face possible charges for violating probation.

The team did not comment on the arrest of Collier and Durant, only to say both did not travel to New Orleans for Sunday?s game. Tight end Isaac Smolko is taking Collier's place on the roster.
