Gun-Toting Man Robs Neptune Beach Store

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. – A beaches robbery was caught on tape as an armed man walked into a Neptune Beach Walgreens, put a gun to the store clerk's neck and pulled cash from the register.

Shortly after the Tuesday robbery, police released surveillance video of the attack in hopes the public could help track down the fast-moving, gun-toting robber.

Police said the crook was dressed as an undercover narcotics officer when he entered the Walgreens store.

The armed robber waited in line behind a customer who was making a purchase before he made his move. Police said he then pulled out a gun and held it to the cashier's neck and then started grabbing cash.

Neptune Beach Police Department Assistant Chief Tony Carrillo said the store's surveillance video could be key to the armed robber's capture.

Carrillo described the robber as being medium-height and fully tattooed on both arms. He said the man was wearing black cargo pants and dark-colored shoes along with a police-type T-shirt.

Investigators have asked the public to take a close look at the robber's clothing. They said the crook was wearing a shirt that had the words "counter" and "narcotics" written in large print across the back.

"It does have a logo on the front of the shirt, and he's got buzz-style cut hair," said Carrillo.

Investigators said they would continue to review the surveillance tape and some evidence from the store, but they hope someone who sees the surveillance tape will be able to identify the robber.

"We're asking for the public's help to identify the clothing. Call us and let us know who he is so we can identify him," Carrillo said.

Anyone who can help identify the man caught on tape during the Walgreens robbery is asked to call Neptune Beach Police.
