No Motive Established In Slaying Of Lake City Man

A woman believed to have stolen a slain Lake City man's pickup truck was arrested in Erie, Penn., on Wednesday and will be extradited back to Florida to face a murder charge, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Brenda Watson, 45, was in custody on charges of violation of probation and auto theft. Columbia County detectives who flow to Pennsylvania said that she confessed to killing 76-year-old Tommy Lee Kellum, whose body was found in his Lake City home early Tuesday morning.

Investigators said Watson lived with Kellum in his home on Washington Street. They said that after his death, she drove his pickup to Broward County and headed north.

Deputies believe she had plans to enter Canada.

A motive for the killing had not been determined.
