Well-Known Jacksonville Businessman Shot

MPS Group Chairman Shot Late Wednesday Evening

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sources told the Channel Four Investigators that someone shot MPS Group Chairman of the Board Derek Dewan on Wednesday night in an apparent robbery at an ATM in San Jose.

The call came in around 8 p.m. It appears Dewan then drove himself to the Owens station at the Dupont Station Shopping plaza, off St. Augustine Road. Dewan's black Land Rover was parked in front with the engine still running as police investigated.

Dewan is the chairman of the board at Modis (MPS Group). With one look at Jacksonville's skyline, you can see just how big the company is. Dewan is well known. He's a prominent businessman who has received several awards for his work in the city.

Channel Four Investigators were told Dewan's injuries aren't serious.
