There's a reason the Florida Gators finished at or near the top of college football the last two years.
That was evidenced in this year's NFL draft, where Florida had nine players selected, the most of any team, including six players taken in the first two rounds.

All nine Gators were selected in the first five rounds, and the three first-round picks tied a school record.
Cornerback Joe Haden was picked seventh-overall by the Cleveland Browns, center Maurkice Pouncey was taken 18th by the Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Tim Tebow went 25th to the Denver Broncos.
Day 2 of the draft was no less eventful for the Gators. Defensive ends Jermaine Cunningham and Carlos Dunlap went back-to-back in the second round, Cunningham to the New England Patriots and Dunlap to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Linebacker Brandon Spikes rounded out Florida's second-round picks, joining Cunningham with the Patriots.
The next three rounds saw one Gator taken in each.
Safety Major Wright was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round, tight end Aaron Hernandez was drafted by the Patriots -- the third Gator taken by New England -- in the fourth round, and wide receiver Riley Cooper was taken in the fifth round by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The nine Gators selected are the second-most in school history. In 1978, 10 Gators were taken in a 12-round draft.
