JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars quarterback David Garrard was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week following his record-breaking performance on Sunday in Dallas.
Garrard threw for a career-high four touchdowns, tying a franchise record, and finished 17 of 21 passing for 260 yards for a franchise-record 157.8 passer rating.

Garrard's rating was the highest in the NFL through eight weeks and the highest-ever rating against the Cowboys dating back to 1960. He accounted for all five Jaguars touchdowns as he scored on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The 81.0 completion percentage Garrard turned in was the second-highest of his career and the highest in the NFL through eight weeks. He completed his first 12 passing attempts and didn't have his first incompletion until early in the third quarter.
Garrard is also a finalist for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award along with Oakland's Jason Campbell and Detroit's Matthew Stafford. Fans can vote for one player at NFL.com/FedEx through noon Friday, with the winners being announced on Friday evening on NFL.com.
