Police: Remains Are Michelle McCoy's Family Notified Saturday
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Medical Examiner has positively identified the remains of Michelle McCoy, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Saturday.
Officers said detectives went to McCoy's home Saturday and told them the remains found Thursday night were positively identified at the 20-year-old woman who had been missing since Jan. 10. The Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. Police said she was beaten to death.
Police continue to look for 52-year-old Larry Thompson in connection with this case. They have issued an arrest warrant for kidnapping.
Police said McCoy and Thompson were a romantic couple, but the McCoy's family denies that.
