ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 29-year-old man shot during a scuffle Saturday night at a pub on King Street died, and a man officers wrestled to the ground after the shooting was charged with murder, according to the St. Augustine Police Department.
Police said officers were called to reports of a disturbance at the Giggling Gator about 8:35 p.m. The officers heard the gunshot and called for rescue.
A man later identified as Paul Gerald Crookshank, of Beacon Street in St. Augustine, was taken to Flagler Hospital, where he died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to authorities.
The officers took Christopher Linus Fries, 41, into custody. After questioning, he was charged with first-degree murder and booked into the St. Johns County Jail.
