Police: Woman Faked Pregnancy, Miscarriage
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police responding to an anonymous 911 call saying a woman got rid of her newborn baby ended up uncovering a miscarriage hoax.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detectives who responded to the Extended Stay America hotel off Lenoir Avenue on Wednesday night found a 33-year-old woman who told her fiance she was pregnant and had suffered a miscarriage.
Investigators said there was blood inside the woman's car and hotel room. They tested the stains, which all revealed negative results for blood.
Police said that's when the woman confessed to faking her pregnancy, buying fake blood from Walmart and staging a miscarriage.
No criminal charges have been filed. Police said she lied to her fiance, which is not a crime.
