Woman run over, killed on Blanding Blvd.

Road closed while accident is investigated

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol said a 41-year-old woman died after being hit by an two vehicles as she tried to cross Blanding Boulevard on Monday night.

Regina Sabbs was hit on Blanding near Nazworth Road about 6:30 p.m. According to the FHP, she was struck while in the southbound lane by a car driven by Joyce Rogers, 79, of Jacksonville.  The impact left Sabbs into the northbound lane, where she was struck by a second car, this one driven by Michael Biagiotti, 41, of Delray Beach.

"I heard a big thump, but I though it might have been a car wreck," witness James Meadows said."

Roads in the area were closed for some time Monday while FHP investigated the accident and cleared the scene.

According to the FHP report, charges are pending.
