St. Augustine police were questioning one man who was staying in the room where the fire started. Police said the fire was not the result of a meth lab as was initially reported. They said the fire was accidental, probably the result of the careless disposal of a cigar.

Channel 4 was told the fire started in a room on the fourth floor around 1 a.m.

Hotel staff said several people were evacuated, but those staying on the opposite side of the hotel were allowed to stay in their rooms.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause is currently under investigation.
