FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – A wrestling head coach and assistant coach who were suspended from their coaching duties at Fernandina Beach High School in light of a hazing investigation have been terminated.
At a meeting Thursday night, the Nassau County School Board removed the coaches from their positions.

Mark Durr, the now-former head coach, can still teach at the school. The now-former assistant coach, John Williams, did not teach.
Mike Landtroop is the team's new head coach and started Monday. He was already a teacher at the school.
The team's season is back on as a result of the new coach in place, and the team will be competing in matches again after the program was suspended last month.
The suspensions and terminations stem from a wrestler being struck with a paddle more than 14 times by his teammates, according to school district officials.
The Fernandina Beach Police Department said it has turned everything in the investigation over to the state attorney's office, which has not yet said if it will file charges.
