JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Most people don't pay much attention to neighborhood watch signs, but in Spring Park, the Neighborhood Watch program made a difference for one homeowner.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said officers found a man in the attic of a home on Spring Park Road on Thursday afternoon. They said he was trying to burglarize the home.

The crook was caught when a neighbor spotted him on the back porch and called police. The homeowner, Craig Lollar, came home to find the man in police custody.
Lollar said the burglar messed up the inside of his home, but did not get away with any of his personal items.
"We have great neighbors around here," said Lollar. "I'm glad they caught this guy because I would be out of a lot of stuff."
Channel 4's Crime Analyst Ken Jefferson said it was a perfect example of why neighborhood crime watch programs are important.
"Some people may take the approach it's none of my business, "said Jefferson. "But it is because it's your neighborhood, and you could be next."
